All we seem to here about on the news is how the extreme weather is hitting different parts of the country. We are continually bombarded with various warnings that almost seem to create a competition as to which part of the country has the deepest snow, the heaviest rain or the coldest temperature. True, we are experiencing some extremes in the weather but the repetition of scenes and reporting, particularly on television, gets a bit tedious, to say the least. I will be very pleased when spring arrives and we see some sunshine across the Exe valley and we can enjoy some time of the day at home in the daylight.
Anyway, surprisingly, we have moved on quite well with the house this month, managing to get the hedges cut and rooting out a few unwanted trees and bushes. Also our handy Andy man has been able to give the outside walls and windows of the house a lick of paint that has extended the life of the windows and made the place look quite refreshed. There are a number of things we still need to do outside and in over the coming months but the place is already shaping up well and feeling more like a home to relax in....
