n40 in a new light...

In a world where everything seems to cost, it makes you think when things are free. Obviously when you reach a certain age (the new forty) the world deems that you suddenly need supporting. So, today I used my new free bus pass to go into town for my regular eye check (actually they have been pestering me for about six months), go to pay and they tell me it's now free because I have reached the age of 'n40'! They gave me a lovely cup of tea (must have thought I needed it) and replaced my glasses case for another Ted Baker one and I got, very good customer service from a couple of attentive young ladies (glad I didn't go to specsavers!) then got on the free bus again and went back to work. All very pleasing really. What I couldn't quite get my head around was that everything was free. As I sat on the bus on the return journey, I noticed at one stop in the High Street about ten people got on and no money changed hands. Every person had some sort of free pass and no one needed to pay!! So, n40 has taken on a new light and is not quite as bad as it seems... and when it comes to pass, you will be free!!
