One down, eleven to go.....

Can't really believe that January 2010 is almost over.... Coping with getting over Christmas, the snow and cold bit has been interesting and a little challenging at times. We woke up today to another sprinkling of snow, which was a bit unexpected, which disappeared almost as quickly as it arrived. I like this time of year, when the sun starts to shine and the air is still quite cold and the next month or so as we move into spring make it feel like we are emerging from hibernation. With world news dominated by the Haiti earthquake disaster and UK news dominated by the snow and ice this decade has certainly made its mark already. We have even come out of recession - how on earth we come out of recession by 0.1% I can't imagine! But up is better than down and we can now to look forward to better times ahead. I hope the US and other countries rally to rebuild Haiti and give that population the chance to some way recover from the devastation - they certainly need it.
Personally, I hope changes being made in our work will make for less stress and a bit more free time to enjoy other people and offer the opportunity to visit a few more places this year. As this year is one of those horrible ones which ends in a zero for me, I will need to be positive and chilled.... that sounds ok I think ....oh, and of course not put on any extra weight (not that I am neurotic or anything). One other thing Marg asked me to do (you try it) was to reach for the nearest book, turn to page 63 and tak the line nearest the centre for your facebook status - I just did that and ended up with the middle eight of Beethovens Fifth! Happened to be sitting beside the piano at the time! I will try another - Here it is 'If you wish to be included in he mural I must insist you wear the blue dress'. There was a long silence, broken at last. 'You can't force me to change. It is just not fair the force someone to wear something they feel is wrong for them.' Well er yes I agree with the sentiment but I still prefer not to wear the dress!!!
