Well. fancy that! someone actually read my blog.... Got home to find that my wife had taken a trip to the local farm shop to buy half a lamb which was guaranteed to have run around in a field before it was assassinated. (It wouldn't have been that difficult because half a lamb would have been going round in circles with ony two legs!!). She also bought some free range pork and a chicken which owned ten acres of real estate which it strolled about in at leisure surveying the landscape stopping occassionally to peck at the choicest organic corn thrown gently by its personal trainer. That tasted very good. So we are now only going to eat meat which has a fully documented family history for at least three generations and is sold via its personally owned farm outlets! Other news for the weekend - spent Friday and Saturday demolishing my parents built in bedroom furniture and taking it to the local dump. Great fun to rip out a really good Shreiber fitted bedroom, break it up and dump it, especially when it's not your own bedroom!
Friday evening was spent at Havana with the band doing the first gig of 2008. Not many punters out yet but did make the aquaintance of a bloke called Craig Milverton who is a pro jazz keyboard player and lives in Exeter. He was impressed with Emma's vocals and has invited her to do a gig with his band later this year, so watch this space for info on that. He organises a jazz festival called Hayne Barton Jazz Festival (google Hayne Barton) with some impressive names taking part (and I don't know nuffink about jazz!!) so I think that will be worth a visit in August.
Had family tea on Sunday afternoon with twelve of us crammed into the dining room eating trifle and cakes. A good time was had be all, almost, and we even tried the new X factor DVD game. A bit of a laugh on a sunday afternoon...
