It's only been three months since I blogged last, so good on me that I have actually made the effort to put finger to keyboard. I'm not making any excuses, apart from not being motivated but blogging is a bit like exercising, you don't really want to do it but you feel sort of better when you have completed it! Anyway, to begin the comeback I have added a few pics from the last few festive days (does anyone know how you can save a set from flickr direct to your blog? Is it possible?) And, yes, the last few days have been very festive, quite relaxing and enjoyable, so thanks to all and sundry who helped make it so good. Just to cover the blog gap since September these are some of the things which come to mind that I probably would have blogged about, in no particular order! Alpinas and Subarus going up the drag strip at Smeathorpe, Lewis Hamilton almost winning the F1 championship, completing my own cinema, the gorgeous Alisha winning Strickly Come Dancing, Rhidian not winning X factor and Ben Elton's essential accompanying book 'Chart Throb', Lola hughes growing at an amazing rate of knots, a few lazy days spent in Tuscany and Florence, a visit by the mad Irish woman, the highs and lows of trying to be a car salesman and annoying passwords which make things so secure you can't access any of your own stuff!
And the latest news etc.. 2007 seems to have had its fair share of bombs, floods, murders, diseases and assassinations it can make life seem rather depressing if you dwell on it, so I guess the best thing is not to! I don't mean ignore it, or not try to make some sense of it but we all only have one shot at life so it's probably worth not wasting it. So as this is the preverbial time of year to start thinking of resolutions I am going to make 2008 more creative than 2007 - (not very difficult really) - particularly regarding the arts - and become more involved in my own creativity and with other people and groups - not sure how as yet so we shall see how it pans out. You may wonder why I am going off on this creative trip but it became a bit clearer last night. I had this dream about being in some sort of recording studio (don't worry I'm not going to apply for X factor!!) and we were listening to some song or other when these two blokes came in and asked if I could write a pop song for them. Next thing I remember was listening to the song, or the first few lines and melody and then I woke up still clearly hearing the song in my head. I don't normally get up at 6.45 am on a Sunday but did, and within about an hour had penned the whole song. Anyway it's a start and maybe there will be other spooky creativy things round the corner!!
