Well, it's been a while since I last blogged, mainly because I seem to have had problems with the google access to my account and have walked away from my computer when it didn't work straight away. Anyway, quite a lot has happened recently so I gave it another go and after three attempts managed to log on to my own account!!! So for the recent and important news here goes. Emma has given birth to her second daughter named Lola Kebriah Hughes. It all happened last Sunday (26th August) and between about 2.00pm and 5.00pm (which is very quick apparently). The baby weighed in at 6lb 10ozs (I'm glad they still use old measures) and was extremely unmarked from the outset. She has blonde hair, long fingers, strong lungs and is already showing herself to be very strong. Robyn has taken to her new sister and has seemed to have accepted the sharing of Emma and Adams attention quite well. That makes five grandchildren, The Famous Five no doubt. (as long as it doesn't become the Secret Seven!) Talking about 'The Famous Five', apparently a south west based film company are putting together a film based on the characters of the Famous Five getting together again in middle age to solve a crime! Will wait to see if that comes off.
Steve, Sarah and family had a great european holiday, Amsterdam and Belgium spoiled only by having to leave their car and new trailer tent in Belgium when the gearbox failed on the Alpina.

We have had a good summer on the 'car lot' the highlight being this weeks company outing to Thruxton Racing Circuit to have a Ferrari supercar experience. It was absolutely brilliant and we all enjoyed every bit of it. Got to drive a Porsche Caymen, Ferrari 355 and a single seat racing car, as well being driven around the track at the start in a Mazda MPS hatch (much quicker than you would think!) and at the end in an Mazda RX8 (also superquick when driven by a professional driver - fantastic!). It was a great day out, travelling together in an Espace made it more of a team event. Funny that when I was teaching most of the team building events majored around somebody spouting their latest ideas and us filling out pages with large felt tip pens. In thirty years of teaching nobody ever said 'Here's the keys to my £150,000 Ferrari, you can drive it as fast as you like around that track!!!' mostly it was ' what on earth will you do if you leave teaching?' Have some fun obviously!!!
Oh yes, I just remembered, we are going to visit Florence (Italy that is, not the Magic Roundabout!) at the end of September. Always wanted to go there to look at the artwork and architecture, especially in term time when it's cheaper!!!
