another year almost gone...
Well Christmas has come and gone again and we are in that strange vacuum between Christmas and New year in which many people seem to become lemmings and rush in great numbers to the high street, grab anything in sight and empty their wallets on demand. Glad that most of our family manage to avoid getting too involved and try to keep their feet on the ground a little at this time of year. Despite that we all still manage to somehow spend and eat more than we should, but what the heck, it's Christmas.....sugar, there I go again! Must mention a couple of pressies though.. lovely original acrylic painting of rocks and seascape from Marg will go well in our soon to be new bedroom (that's if the builder ever completes the job!). An aeriel picture of our house made into a jigsaw, and another piece of artwork also based on rocks bought from Tim Salter's exhibition. Felt very righteous giving a couple of alternative presents (luckily didn't get any!!! only joking) oh, got the new Beatle 'Love' album, definately worth a listen. So a good time was had by all, we saw a bit of our families and had a laugh and another year has almost bitten the dust. For most things I think 2006 has been a good year. Highlights have been having Emma, Adam and Robyn around and Adam safely back from Iraq, holiday in Cornwall, Touring Cars at Thruxton and just enjoying a second year living in Hillcrest Park. What about 2007? I'm going think about that over the next few days...
