when i first started this blog thing i wanted my blog to be a bit different but over the months its been quite hard to keep finding interesting and amusing bits and pieces to write about (ahh how sad). i have tried to record some of what is going on around as well as commenting occassionally on current news issues. one thing i have done from the outset is write the whole thing in lower case with pretty well no punctuation to be different or trendy perhaps (actually it was to make everyone who reads it work flippin hard to understand what on earth it says). now though i have a real dilemma. im reading the lynne truss book talk to the hand in which on page 23 says and i quote "The writer who neglects spelling and punctuation is quite arrogantly dumping a lot of aviodable work onto the reader, who deserves to be treated with more respect." so now you see the dilemma i have do i continue to neglect spelling and punctuation or do i show respect to my readers not that there are many of them. the problem is i have been brought up or maybe that should be brainwashed into the idea that you cant take bits willy nilly out of a book just to suit yourself. and i think from what ive read that there are some good bits in this book so do i have to take it all.....i think i would value any comments on this issue from anyone across the whole world wide interweb...whether i should show respect to my readers or to my personal writing style. also whether or not i am going completely insane or not....
the roof thing is beginning a upward curve with all the old floors and ceilings out and some big steel bits going in. some questions about quite where any supporting walls are but i have complete confidence in the builders. i have also ordered a set of hard hats for christmas.....
