there goes the summer...
after a bit of a break i think i should get back into blogging again. if nothing else it will give me the opportunity to record daily events and maybe spark a bit of humour or creativity again. so to rapidly cover what has happened over the past three months - a week in cornwall on the roseland peninsula was a most welcome break for marguerite and i and we had a great time visiting various places including the hotel in veryan we went on honeymoon to 35 years ago. a few changes but essentially the same place. After trying out steve's camper van for a week-end this was the 'week test'and it passed with flying colours. we visited various places including trellisick gardens a national trust property overlooking the river fal, flambards at helston with the victorian village and britain in blitz displays, the tate gallery with an exhibition of john hoyland’s entitled the trajectory of a fallen angel and the hepwoth gardens at st ives, mevigissey, the lost gardens of helligan and trerice an elizabethan house near newquay. after returning we experienced the amazing july heatwave when we all thought the planet was going to explode into a ball of fire. of course it didn't it just rained again! adam joined us for two weeks in july taking a break from his tour in iraq where he is being kept busy. emma and robyn have been with us for five months now and we are still sane - amazing. robyn has been developing her own language and her language skills with a very extensive vocabulary and immitating much of what goes on around her often causing great hilarity. A couple of summer parties added interest and alcohol to the summer and the wedding of our niece laura to tom at tavistock, in the same methodist church where we got married 35 years ago almost to the day. a meal out on monday at a local bistro to celebrate our anniversary or major achievement whichever way you look at it was really good. so there goes the summer of 2006. now we have builders and dust to look forward to for the next three months yippee i can't wait... at least it will give me something to blog about i suppose...
