now the fun begins...

next week the fun begins. the builders move in and begin to demolish the top of out house. we hope they will replace it with a redesigned upstairs (attic/ dormer conversion as its a bungalow)and a new roof. we seem to have made a bit of a habit of redesigning houses we move into over the past few years. mostly to good effect i think and to make the property worth more even taking into account the expense. hopefully by christmas we shall be able to accomodate more people and have a proper four bedroomed property with two bathrooms. business is still very slow at the moment, its a bit soul destroying sitting about waiting for customers. drafted this blog last week and pleased to say have sold a couple of cars since then. we now have scaffolding all around the house so it does already look like a building site. marg cooked a very nice meal last evening with dennis and his new partner lucia. it's good getting to know new people, especially from other parts of the world. this morning at 7.30 had the builder wanting a decision on the colour of slates for the roof. you just hope you make the right decision otherwise you could end up with the roof looking wrong. i am looking forward to the whole project developing and being completed 'cause the house will look better for it and have more usable space.. we hope...
