so there we were, on a friday afternoon trundeling along the exe valley towards the somerset border in steves camper van. up through dunster and then minehead and on to porlock where we found our very tidy caravan site. it was very easy just to arrive and be set up in a few minutes make a cup of tea and sit watching others putting up tents in the wind - i remember those days..
we found this van to be ideal for the two of us with space to eat or relax or sleep created very quickly and easily and once we had organised ourselves it was brilliant. saturday we enjoyed dunster castle, particularly the hand carved ceilings and stairway and had a tasty meal out at a little resturaunt in porlock called the piggy in the middle. on sunday we relaxed in the van listening to the monaco grand prix whilst having lunch in the valley of the rocks at lynton before walking around the headland. monday was back to barnstaple to take margs dad out for lunch and spend some time with him before returning home. so all in all a relaxing weekend in which we learnt about using the camper van. we're now looking forwad to a week away in it at the end of june...so thanks steve and sarah we think its great...
