Lemon tea and classical music...

Anyone who has worked in a retail situation will know that the customer is always right. Perhaps it should be the customer always thinks they are right? For example, today.. a customer brought back a car purchased last week with 'serious faults' various 'scraping and knocking noises' so bad in fact the customer could not drive the car anymore. That's quite a lot of faults with a car which has just had a new MOT, a 50 point pre delivery inspection and a service. We were concerned and wanted the car back asap because the customer is always right. The car turned up today and we road tested it with the customer. Guess what? There was absolutely nothing wrong with it. We ended up exchanging the car for another, which in reality shouldn't have been necessary but that was done for 'goodwill'. It is a tad frustrating when you try hard to sell better prepared cars than the average garage and give better service that it is never good enough. But then thats retailing I suppose and nobody trusts anybody nowadays especially if you are in the motor trade. Anyway enough of that, Marg and I are flying off to Ireland next Monday to tour round the South of the country for ten days so there will be some photos on their way when I get back. Time to get back to my lemon tea and classical music.....
